Employment for Aghaly population is on agenda
Mətbuat xidmətinin məlumatı 04 August, 2022

The State Committee for the Affairs of Refugees and IDPs conducts surveys to assess socio-economic, educational, demographic situation, current income-generating activity, self-employment, and employment level, determine their needs, and get opinions on phased return of the residents of Aghaly village of Zangilan district. People aged 16-63 participated in the survey.

Surveys prepared by the State Committee jointly with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) based on pilot methodologies, face-to-face interviews, table studies and focus group meetings are conducted in the cities of Baku, Sumgait and Absheron and Beylagan districts (population of Aghaly village mainly resides in these areas).

In general, 727 more residents are expected to be relocated to Aghaly village, which was reconstructed using "smart village" concept. Relevant surveys are being conducted to assess the needs of 492 able-bodied residents and provide them with employment.

Survey results will be analysed at the final stage.  Job fairs, meetings with employers and other relevant measures will be taken jointly with relevant institutions to improve knowledge and skills of able-bodied IDPs and provide them with suitable employment opportunities.  Surveys are expected to be completed in August.
