Members of European Parliament visit Azerbaijan`s Agdam region

December 11, As part of their trip to Azerbaijan, members of the European Parliament Dominique Riquet and Philippe Boulland visited Agdam region of the country. The MEPs met first deputy head of the region`s Executive Power Zulfu Gasimov who briefed them problems of Azerbaijanis driven from their native lands in the wake of Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan. Gasimov also highlighted the progress made by the Azerbaijani government to improve the living conditions of refugees and IDPs. He added Armenia does not honor four resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council. For their part, the MEPs expressed regret over the fact that the OSCE Minsk Group`s efforts to resolve the Nagorno Karabakh conflict yielded no results. They saw a film entitled “Caucasian Hiroshima” featuring the views of Agdam before and after occupation by Armenia. Following the meeting, Dominique Riquet and Philippe Boulland told journalists they support the soonest peaceful resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
