The Intergovernmental event on the level of Ministers of the UN member states in Geneva came to an end.

The delegation headed by Mr. Ali Hasanov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Azerbaijan Republic, attended the Intergovernmental event on the level of Ministers of the UN member states organized by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) on the date of December 7-8, 2011. The Communique of Ministers was unanimously adopted by delegations of the UN member states at the end of the mentioned event on December 8, 2011. In the Communique of Ministers, activity performed by the UNHCR was approved, ways and directions of solving problems, refugees, people without citizenship and IDPs confronted. More effective and thorough implementation of solution of refugees’ state and sustainable ways of solution in accordance with international law and due resolutions of the UN General Assembly, existence of a need in resolving main reasons of refugee situations in correspondence with international law was set in Communique of Ministers and this met national interests of our country. The Intergovernmental event on the level of Ministers of the UN member states organized by the UNHCR came to an end. The Permanent Mission of the Azerbaijan Republic under the Geneva Office of the UN and other international institutions took an active part in organizing a visit of the Azerbaijan delegation to Geneva, compiling the Communique of Ministers as well.
