Totals of nine months of the current year were discussed at the collegiate meeting of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs.

On October 26, the collegiate meeting dedicated to totals of the last nine months of the current year of the State Committee on the Affairs of Refugees and IDPs was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister, chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Mr. Ali Hasanov. Before passing on to a discussion of the issues entered to the agenda of the collegiate meeting congratulating the participants on the occasion of Azerbaijan’s being selected to a non-permanent membership of UN Security Council, valued this event as a result of an agile and pragmatic foreign policy of the head of our state, great victory of the Azerbaijani state, estimated Azerbaijan’s being selected as a young state to a membership of the world’s most influential organization as an obvious example of an appraisal given to the policy our state pursue. 155 countries out of 193 UN member countries had voted for Azerbaijan and chairman accentuated that this event notified of international ascendency of our country. The orator noted that Azerbaijan had affirmed itself as an independent country over 20 years as stated in the President’s statement on this occasion as well. This victory is the victory of Azerbaijan people, the Azerbaijani state. It is the triumph of the policy belonging to the head of the Azerbaijani state. At the collegiate meeting of the collective building its activity in accordance with the State Program on “Improvement of living conditions and increasing employment of refugees and IDPs” approved by the decrees of the head of our state and its appendixes, as well as the other due decrees, it was noted that over the past period in connection with the execution of the appropriate decree of the President of the Azerbaijani Republic 3 five-storeyed dwelling buildings for 165 families settling down in the “Garabagh” sanatorium at the primary phase had been constructed and put into service in the land allocated in the territory of Goranboy region for the purpose of improving housing-living conditions of 688 internally displaced families temporarily residing in Naftalan Sanatorium- sanatoria of the Resort Unity and Mr. President attended the opening of these buildings on February 10. Here as well as a 360-pupil school, 50-seat kindergarten have been brought into service of internally displaced persons along with communication, social-technical infrastructures. Construction of a complex of 9 five-storied residential buildings, a music school and administrative building for 524 internally displaced families impermanently inhabiting in the other 4 sanatoria is currently being continued at a rapid pace and will be completed in the near future. Preparation measures are presently being taken to bring the block into use. Roof covers, sanitary knots, water and power lines of more than 1600 residential objects have fallen into disrepair in different region and areas of our republic because of being exploited for a long time. Just for this purpose as in every year after appropriate offices and departments of the Committee together with regional executive powers reviewed residential objects and prepared due offers for the Committee Leadership according to the appeals of separate executive powers, institutions and citizens, in 33 objects present-day maintenance works have been implemented over the last 9 months by the Committee’s subordinate construction organizations at the expense of financial means allocated from the state budget in 2011 for present repair of dwelling objects of all type and conduct of current maintenance works in further 10 objects has been intended till the end of the year. Beside these, 52 houses construction of which has still remained unfinished since 1995 were completed and put into service of mahsati turks in 2011at the expense of state investment costs, construction of 142 incomplete houses has been meant for the next year. Other works have been implemented at the expense of funds allocated for this aim in compliance with suitable decrees of the Cabinet of Ministers and the main target is to improve our compatriots’ housing-living conditions. At the meeting the issue about providing refugee and internally displaced persons with status cards was thoroughly debated. It was noted that over the past period 17 802 people had been issued status cards by the status department of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, comprehensive conditions had been created for establishing works in this field on better bases as a result of Committee Leadership’s direct care for and control over the department. At the collegiate meeting it was confidently expressed that duties entrusted to them would be decently fulfilled by efficiently using opportunities of all collaborators of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs in meeting obligations put forward with the purpose of resolving refugees and IDPs’ various problems henceforth and for this purpose concrete tasks were given to opportune office and departments. Deputy Prime Minister, chairman of State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Mr. Ali Hasanov concluded the collegiate meeting where due decisions on the discussed issues had been taken.
