The State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons received information about an accident in the five-story building of the Gizilgum sanatorium, where the IDPs have been settled, in the Pirshagi settlement of the Sabunchu district of Baku in the evening of September 14.
Immediately after the information, appropriate measures were taken to ensure the safety of IDPs.
Representatives of relevant government agencies inspected the area. Given that the sanatorium, where 98 families are temporarily accommodated, is in an emergency, they were advised to leave the building.
According to the vacant housing fund on the State Committee's balance, 11 families living in the five-story building of the "Gizilgum" sanatorium were provided with new apartments.
Other families have been offered to move to a newly-built residential area for 180 IDP families in the Umid settlement in Baku's Garadagh district.
