A group of people were awarded the honorary title of "Honored Journalist" for their services in the development of media by the Order dated on July 22, 2020 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Aliyev Elshan Ali, editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Veten sesi”, the periodical of the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, is one of the persons who were awarded the honorary title.

E.Aliyev has been working in media for more than 40 years. He graduated from the Journalism Faculty of Azerbaijan State University (current Baku State University). He started his professional career in Aghdam. Later he worked in newspapers such as “Khalg Gazeti”, “Azerbaijan”, “Respublika”, “Panorama”, “Bizim Esr”. In 2003-2018, he was the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Azerbaijan Ishiglari”, the only periodical specialized in the field of electric power in the country. He has been the editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Veten Sesi” for two years.
