On February 18, fire broke out in the one-storey building containing wooden structures at Buzovna settlement, Khazar district and on the third floor of the dormitory of Oil and Energy College located at Bakikhanov settlement, Subunchu district of Baku where IDPs temporarily settled. The fire was extinguished by firefighting units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Immediately after receiving information about the fire accident, responsible officers of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs visited the scene. The initial investigation revealed that 7 internally displaced families temporarily settled in the building located at Buzovna settlement, Khazar district. 3 of them are from Lachin and 4 from Khojali.                   

Those families were offered houses in the regions since there is no vacant apartment in the special-purpose residential areas in Baku on the balance of the State Committee. At the same time, they were informed that it is possible to repair and restore the building damaged in fire and relocate the affected families herein temporarily.                                                                              

During the fire accident on the third floor of the dormitory of Oil and Energy College located at Bakikhanov settlement, Subunchu district the residential area of Elshan Khalilov, the IDP from the village Abdal of Aghdam was severely damaged. Other residential areas were protected from fire.
