On April 10, a fire occurred in the building where internally displaced persons settle in Babak Avenue, Baku.

Immediately after receiving this information, Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov, Chairman of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and Internally Displaced PersonsRovshan Rzayev, Head of Nizami district Executive Power Arif Gasimov, Deputy Chairmen of the State Committee and other officials were present at the scene.

After the fire occurred, the commission established by the State Committee went to the scene and census was conducted.

It should be noted that the fire occurred on the third floor of the building, in the corridor. The internally displaced persons living in 23 apartments damaged due to water during fire extinguishing will be provided with rental fee by the state.

During fire, 2 people, including one juvenile, were rescued by firefighters and 10 residents were evacuated. As a result of the accident, 2 people were injured and one of them was provided with primary medical assistance at the scene and the other one – at the hospital.

The causes of the occurrence of fire are investigated by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the damage caused is determined. After the investigation, final opinion will be given. Relevant legal steps will be taken on the basis of the opinion.
