The State Committee organized a mobile service to provide IDP cards

The State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs organized a mobile service for a group of IDPs temporarily settled in Ganja city and Goygol region to provide them IDP cards confirming their status under the existing legislation. The mobile service was provided on July 27 in the settlement built for IDPs in Ganja city. The responsible employees of the Committee provided IDPs cards to 100 IDPs who had applied for the status document based on existing regulations. One of them – the IDP with disabilities was provided the card in his/her house. 30 per cent of IDPs who got the cards were prospective university students applied to the Committee to confirm their respective status. It should be mentioned that social protection measures such as provision of temporary accommodation, employment, social security and medical care, education right, transportation and housing and utilities, as well as tax benefits are being applied on IDPs and persons equated to them according to the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the social protection of IDPs and persons equated to them”. According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On payment of tuition fees of IDPs studying at the public higher educational institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan” dated on September 14, 2011 citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan with IDP status are exempted from tuition fees.
