A residential complex is being built in Sumgait for internally displaced families living in severe conditions

The government always keeps the fate of the people who were displaced from their homeland as a result of the military aggression of Armenia in the Republic of Azerbaijan, improvement of their living conditions and social protection of them in the center of attention. Construction works are being carried out to improve the living and housing conditions of 2900 internally displaced families living in dormitories and other facilities in Sumgait in severe conditions related with the execution of item 1.7 of “Annexes” made to the State Program “On Improvement of Living Conditions and Increasing Employment of Refugees and IDPs” approved by the Order No.298, dated on July 1, 2004 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan by the order No.1346, dated on February 21, 2011. According to the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs of the Republic of Azerbaijan a residential complex consisting of 24 7-storey buildings is being built in the land area of 50.0 ha allocated to the Committee from Absheron district for 1000 families living in more severe conditions in the first stage. The complex also includes a school building for 792 students, kindergarten for 140 children, two-storey administrative building (for local executive structures, housing and utility services, etc.), medical station, club-community center and ATS building. The construction works are planned to be completed in December 2018.
