On January 31, a large board meeting devoted to the results of last year and the forthcoming tasks, chaired by Ali Hasanov, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs has been held in the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs. Making a speech at the board meeting, Ali Hasanov, the Chairman of the committee, during the discussion of the issues included in the agenda, has focused on the provisions and duties set forth in his broad and keynote speeches at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, chaired by Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dedicated to the results of the socio-economic development in 2017 and the forthcoming tasks and at the conference dedicated to the results of the fourth year of implementation of the "State Program on Socio-Economic Development of the regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2014-2018" on January 29. He has noted that as a result of the successful socio-economic reforms and purposeful policy led by the President Ilham Aliyev, the economic potential of our country has further strengthened, sustainable development dynamics has been achieved. Ali Hasanov said “We are watching miserable processes, massacres that resulted in massive human casualties, wars in the world through local and foreign mass media every day. At present, the economic and financial crisis is exacerbated all over the world. In the light of all these processes Azerbaijan successfully completed 2017. Most importantly, as noted by the head of state, social stability was maintained in Azerbaijan. There can be no economic development without stability. And the main reason for this stability is the unity of Azerbaijani people and government.” Noting that all these achievements of Azerbaijan is based on the oil strategy, prepared by national leader Heydar Aliyev in 1994, the Chairman of the Committee said that perhaps it would not have been possible to fully achieve success today if there were no oil strategy prepared by the Great Leader with predictability. The signing of the "Contract of the Century" with well-known oil companies of the world at a time when there are internal conflicts and there is no stability in Azerbaijan is a historical event. The only reason why such big companies invested in Azerbaijan during such severe days was their belief in the Great Leader. At the board meeting, touching upon the attendance of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the World Economic Forum recently held in Davos and his speech at the board discussion "Strategic Review: Eurasia," under the Forum, the Deputy Prime Minister said that, the Head of our State voiced specific opinions on the most important issues for our country, as well as for the region and the world, and gave detailed information on Azerbaijan's economic development, international prestige, importance of political and economic reforms in our country. Noting that President Ilham Aliyev said once again in Davos that he has always kept national interests of Azerbaijan supreme, A. Hasanov highlighted that stating Azerbaijan's realities in an important tribune such as the World Economic Forum were of exceptional significance and demonstrated the political will of our country. The opinions voiced by the head of the state were consistent answers to those who spread biased information about Azerbaijan. Emphasizing that Azerbaijan is a state pursuing an independent policy, the President Ilham Aliyev said that this policy is based on our national interests and that we are not involved in any risky roadblock for our country. Participation of the President of Azerbaijan in this prestigious event every year indicates that our country has a great reputation in the world.
