On July 14, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs Fuad Huseynov met with Chief Analyst of Center for Conflict Prevention and Early Warning of the Republic of Romania Mrs. Andrea Ibanescu who is on visit to Azerbaijan. At the meeting where historical roots of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the current political situation, the fact that Azerbaijan is assessed as a model for countries facing similar problems in the world as a result of successful state policy led by the Mr. President Ilham Aliyev to settle the problem of refugee and IDP in the country and other necessary issues were basically discussed in detail, giving comprehensive information to the visitor, Fuad Huseynov highlighted that although Azerbaijan demonstrates its commitment to the peaceful settlement of the conflict, this problem has not been settled yet due to the Armenia's expansionist policy. It was also noted that even if influential international organizations, including UN Security Council, OSCE, PACE, OIC, European Parliament and other bodies have taken decisions and resolutions that condemn Armenia's expansionist policy and demand the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of occupants from Azerbaijani lands, the occupying country does not follow any of them. All this is a clear demonstration of double standards in the conflict settlement. During the meeting, a researcher from Romania emphasized the importance of the soonest settlement of the conflict and highly appreciated the works done by Azerbaijan related to the settlement of problems of refugees and IDPs. At the meeting, where a number of issues of mutual interest were discussed, the visitor expressed her gratitude for detailed answers to your questions and detailed information and mentioned that she was pleased with the Azerbaijan's tolerance traditions.
