Visiting Azerbaijan a delegation led by the member of the Council of Europe's Advisory Committee on the Framework Convention for the “Protection of National Minorities” in Latvia Reinis Aboltins met with the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs Fuad Huseynov.
Firstly providing comprehensive information related to our country to the visitors the Deputy Chairman of the Committee mentioned that Azerbaijan develops day by day as the first democratic republic in the East, always prefers to live in a peaceful neighborhood as a legal, secular state. It was noted that, representatives of various nations have been living together with our people in our country for centuries and they preserve their national traditions, values. Saying preservation of religious, cultural monuments, national traditions of national minorities, provision of their rights are given a special importance by the state F.Huseynov also highlighted that, known as a tolerant country in the world today Azerbaijan always made significant contributions to the world civilization with its unique traditions.
At the end, Deputy Chairman of the Committee spoke about the tragedy of the two-year-old Zahra and her grandmother killed in Alkhanli village of Fuzuli region as a result of the provocation of the Armenian armed forces on July 4. He also noted that international community and European states should abandon double standards and comment on this event. It was noted that, the existence of Armenian armed forces in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan is the main reason for the tense situation, such incidents in the conflict zone and a serious obstacle to the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
At the event where a number of issues of mutual interest are discussed, the visitors expressed their gratitude for receiving detailed answers to their questions and detailed information, and expressed their satisfaction with the tolerance traditions of the Azerbaijani state.
