Delegation of the European Parliament met with internally displaced persons.

On May 22, a delegation led by new chair of the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee, Deputy of European People's Party from Germany David McAllister reviewed the conditions created in the quarter built for IDPs in Masazir settlement, Absheron district. Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Fuad Huseynov and Head of Zangilan region Executive Power Ramiz Hasanov thanked to the delegation for visiting our compatriots who have been living as IDPs for many years as a result of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict in order to review the whole conditions created for them by the Azerbaijani government. It was stated that Azerbaijan was subjected to military aggression by Armenia as a result of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Fuad Huseynov said that Azerbaijani government has undertaken the solution of problems of these people who have left their lands. The State Program was approved by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to take comprehensive measures related to the employment, education, housing, social welfare of the refugees and IDPS. Then the visitors reviewed the conditions created in 540-seat, Zangilan region senior secondary school No.33 in the quarter and comprehensively exchanged views with the members of teaching staff. During the conversation, the IDPs said that Azerbaijani government provides whole care for the citizens living as IDPs today and regularly focuses on the solution of their problems. The conditions created in this quarter also confirm all these. However, in spite of all these, every IDP lives with the desire to return to their native lands. During the conversation, expressing their satisfaction with whole conditions created both in the settlement and in the school, the European visitors expressed the necessity of solution of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict based on the norms and principles of international law and the return of refugees and IDPs to their native lands.
