The representatives of World Bank visited project areas.

After visiting project areas carried out under the “Project on Support of Living conditions of IDPs and Income Opportunities”, World Bank Country Senior Social Development Specialist, Project Manager Robert Wrobel met with Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Republic, chairman of the State Committee on deals of Refugees and IDPs, chairman of the Republican Commission on International Humanitarian Aid Ali Hasanov on May 4. At the meeting, Robert Wrobel stated that, they met new projects carried out in Mingechevir, Ganja, Yevlakh and Barda regions during the visit and these are among the best projects. He also especially assessed the work done in Garvand village of Aghdam region related to income provision. Here the people come together and work as a group. Robert Wrobel stated that about 20 business fields were created by the young people in information technologies, various professional fields and service fields under Youth Support Project and executive agencies are working at the highest level. During his visit to regions, Robert Wrobel highly appreciated the conditions created in new settlements for IDPs and congratulated Azerbaijani people on the occasion of the opening of one more new settlement for IDPs in Fuzuli regions these days. Robert Wrobel said that works have been done in nearly 103 hostels up to now under the projects carried out and suggested that, discussions should be held on increasing income opportunities and provision of employment. At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Ali Hasanov highly appreciated cooperation between the government of Azerbaijan and World Bank. He stated that, according to the loan agreements concluded related to IDPs with the support of World Bank up to now, the measures provided for various infrastructure projects, issuance of microcredits, support of income opportunities and other components were taken successfully and transparently and control mechanisms in this field will be even stronger in the future. Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the visits of representatives of World Bank to the new project areas and getting acquainted with works carried out and expressed the importance of these visits often. Deputy Prime Minister stated that, as a result of the successful policy of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has developed today and has become one of the world's leading countries. Today, the government of Azerbaijan undertook to solve the problems of the citizens and economic development of our country increasing day by day created opportunity to solve this problem. But in addition, the needs to give priority to projects which are the priorities for refugees and IDPs and implemented on income provision in particular, infrastructure, support of young people, microcredit programs remain. Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov highlighted that a new Loan Agreement concluded between the government of Azerbaijan and World Bank according to the instructions of President of the country in order to strengthen efforts to solve housing and employment problems of IDPs will play important role in the life of IDPs.
