Prospects of development of relations between Azerbaijan and Iran were discussed.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Committee on deals of Refugees and IDPs, Chairman of the Republican Commission on International Humanitarian Aid Ali Hasanov received newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador Javad Jahangirzada of Islamic Republic of Iran to the country on November 23. Wishing success to Javad Jahangirzada in his diplomatic activities in our country, Ali Hasanov expressed the hope that ambassador will make every effort on further development of Azerbaijan-Iran bilateral relations. Speaking about relations between two friend and Muslim countries the Islamic Republic of Iran and Republic of Azerbaijan at the meeting, Ali Hasanov expressed satisfaction with the development of the bilateral relations of cooperation in all fields and stressed the importance of expanding this cooperation not only in the economic field, but also in humanitarian field. Ali Hasanov said that national leader Heydar Aliyev played a special role in increasing the level of Azerbaijan-Iran relations. He added that these relations are successfully continuing under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. Mutual visits of the presidents of both countries further accelerated the development of our relations. Saying a true friendship and brotherhood manifests itself in hard times, Deputy Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for the contributions of Iran’s humanitarian organizations such as Imam Khomeini Relief Committee and Red Crescent ("Hilal Ahmar") Society to our country during the period while Azerbaijan suffering from Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and stated that, in those hard years, first of all Iran’s Red Crescent Society provide humanitarian aid to Azerbaijan, established 7 tent camps in Bilasuvar, Saatli and Sabirabad and about 50 thousand IDPs temporality settled in these camps. In those difficult times, economic opportunities in Azerbaijan were at a very low level. He also mentioned that, as a result of a sagacious policy and hard work of President Ilham Aliyev, today Azerbaijan became one of the fastest-growing states of the world. The new models are applied at the initiative of Mr. President. Asan Service is an example for the whole world in this field and there is no almost such a service in the world. 95 modern residential complexes were built in our country for refugees and IDPs and 250 thousand people were moved to the new apartments. Expressing gratitude for detailed information and warm reception Javad Jahangirzadeh said that they are very interested in expanding relations with Azerbaijan which is stable and developing country partner on the development of our bilateral relations. Emphasizing that Iran-Azerbaijan relations are developing rapidly in recent years, the Ambassador also noted that the peoples of Azerbaijan and Iran have the same religion and moral values. These factors lead both nations to live in friendship and brotherhood. The ambassador especially emphasized rapid development of Azerbaijan in recent years and further increase in the country's international prestige, as well as stressed the importance of further increasing trade turnover between our countries.
