Internally displaced persons experience the joy of resettlement in new apartments

Works were fully completed in the newly built settlement for the internally displaced persons in Sabirabad region and the resettlement of internally displaced persons was started. As a result of measures taken for the improvement of living conditions of internally displaced persons which are the basic principles of the policy pursued by the President Ilham Aliyev, the tent cities were cancelled and all the people were moved to the modern settlements. State programs were adopted for the improvement of their financial welfare and important measures were taken on increase of their social benefits. It is a reflection of attention and care provided to our internally displaced compatriots that “State Program on the improvement of living conditions and increase of employment of the refuges and internally displaced persons” was approved by the Decree No. 298 dated July 1, 2004 of the President of Azerbaijan Republic and Annexes to the State Program were approved by the Decrees No.2475 dated October 31, 2007 and No. 1346 dated February 21, 2011. As a result of the measures carried out in previous years, the State Program, Annexes made to it and other regulatory acts were carried out successfully and other works intended to be done in this field are continued. In general, 94 modern settlements were built and 49 thousand families or 243 thousand internally displaced persons were provided with apartments up to now. In 2015 the amount of money spent on and internally displaced person was about 840 manats and this is the highest indicator compared to the other conflict zones of the world. As a result of the measures taken out, the level of poverty among the internally displaced persons was decreased from 75% to 12 % in the last 12 years. The works were fully completed in all the necessary social and technical infrastructure facilities for the internally displaced families temporarily who settled in Finnish-type settlements and newly built residential settlement for 440 families in Sabirabad region and the resettlement of internally displaced persons to the settlement was started. The settlement was built on the implementation of Paragraph 1.2. of the “Annexes” made by the Decree dated October 31, 2007 to the “State Program on the improvement of living condition and increase of employment of the refuges and internally displaced persons” approved by the Decree dated July 1,2004 by the President of Azerbaijan Republic. The total area of the settlement is 30 hectares. School building for 370 students, administrative building, medical center, club-public center and post office meeting the requirements of modern standards were also built in the settlement. A comprehensive works were carried out on the electric power, drinking water and gas supply of the settlement. Modern road infrastructure was built here. There are all the conditions for the students to study at the highest level at school. Classrooms and sport halls of the educational institution are supplied with all the necessary inventory and equipment. Our internally displaced compatriots who settled in the new residential area expressed their gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ilham Aliyev for the conditions created for them.
