Chair of the National Commission on Human Rights of Indonesia was in the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons

Ali Hasanov, deputy of Prime Minister, chair of State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons and chair of the Republican Commission on International Humanitarian Aid met Nur Kholis, chair of the National Commission on Human Rights of Indonesian Republic on October 23. Ali Hasanov stated in the meeting that Indonesia is one of the countries which recognized the independency of Azerbaijan for the first time. He also mentioned that, Indonesia has always supported Azerbaijan in the sessions of UNO on the conflict of Mountainous Karabagh. Ali Hasanov stated that Azerbaijan is in the leading places according to its economic development pace among the world countries the last 5-6 years. Azerbaijan is known as the oil-gas country in the world. But today President Ilham Aliyev has converted the directions of strategic development of the country to the other direction. Today the only problem of Azerbaijan is Mountainous Karabagh conflict and refugees and internally displaced persons more than 1 million 200 thousand resulted from this. Ali Hasanov said: “Sometimes international organizations rebut us regarding fight against corruption and human rights. However important successes have been achieved in our country in the direction of fight against corruption and human rights. It is true that there are some certain faults. But look at the countries which rebut us. In which of them do not the corruption cases or human rights violations exist?! Do not they exist in USA or in Europe?! They exist everywhere. They also exist in the countries which have democracy history for 100-200 years. But we have restored our independency for 24 years and lived its 10-15 years in state of war. Generally today neither USA nor Europe nor others has a moral right to speak about human rights in the world.” Ali Hasanov mentioned European Parliament has recently adopted an unfair decision against Azerbaijan: “As if rights of 2-3 persons have been broken here. But European Parliament has not yet said that it is already 20 years rights of 1 million 200 thousand people have been breaking in Azerbaijan. Namely European Parliament is itself an organization which is in the corruption. Give your money and they will prepare and adopt a decision you want. This is the European Parliament. That’s why it is better for them to teach democracy lessons to themselves.” Deputy of Prime minister said that Azerbaijan is advancing in the right direction under the guidance of President Ilham Aliyev and always achieves successes. Ali Hasanov also stressed that Azerbaijan government provides all necessary conditions for the refugees and internally displaced persons. 6 billion 500 million dollar has been spent for the solution of the social problems of refugees and internally displaced persons the last 20 years. 93 settlements have been built, 240 thousand refugees and internally displaced persons have settled till now and this process is going on. He said that a Great Return program has been prepared by Azerbaijan government and all issues have been reflected in it. Nur Kholis, chair of the National Commission on Human Rights of Indonesian Republic, who expressed his satisfaction for being in Azerbaijan, noted that he held several effective meetings within the visit and this visit will contribute to the development of the relations of our countries. He said that he was in the quarter built for the internally displaced persons in Masazir settlement of Absheron region, as well as met internally displaced persons who settled in the dormitories of Azerbaijan Technical University in Yasamal district and got acquainted with their life conditions. The guest stated that this visit will be beneficial. The chair of the commission who informed on the activity of the organization he represents said that they will support Azerbaijan regarding the conflict of Mountainous Karabagh. Nur Kholis stressed that he witnessed the care and attention of Azerbaijan government toward the refugees and internally displaced persons. He said that the violation of rights of the Azerbaijani refugees and internally displaced persons and impossibility of their return to their native lands are a great injustice. N. Kholis mentioned the necessity of the solution of the conflict of Mountainous Karabagh by peaceful means within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and also, the necessity of dissemination of the Azerbaijani realities across the world. He added that Indonesia will implement measures in this direction.
