He noted that today the state of Azerbaijan undertook the settlement of the problems of its citizens and increasing economic growth of our country allows the settlement of these problems. But at the same time, it is necessary to give precedence to the projects implemented particularly over the profit-making, support of youth, micro-loans, being the priority area for more than 1 million 200 thousand refugees and IDPs displaced from their native land as a result of Armenia – Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict. That is why, during the discussion of “Azerbaijan - Internally Displaced Person (IDP) Living Standards and Livelihoods Project” implemented in accordance with the agreement signed between the government of Azerbaijan and the World Bank at the meeting, works done in the framework of this project until now were analyzed, the main forthcoming priorities were determined. Ali Hasanov also stressed that Azerbaijan government provides all necessary conditions for the refugees and internally displaced persons. 6 billion 500 million dollar has been spent for the solution of the social problems of refugees and internally displaced persons the last 20 years. 93 settlements have been built, 240 thousand refugees and internally displaced persons have settled till now and this process is going on. He said that a Great Return program has been prepared by Azerbaijan government and all issues have been reflected in it. The Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov assessed all of them as a positive case and also mentioned that the government of Azerbaijan is interested in cooperating with the World Bank and taking benefit from its practice thereafter and today the practice of Azerbaijan is used in the countries of the world facing the similar problems in the settlement of problems of refugees and IDPs and the United High Commissioner for Refugees declared it from its high tribune. Ali Hasanov assessed it as a result of mutual cooperation and emphasized that it is important to accelerate the implementation of projects to be implemented, to increase quality, to focus the direction of projects to priority areas. Ms. Nina Bhatt expressed her gratitude for attaching such significance to the cooperation with the World Bank, for warm welcome and detailed information and appreciated the works done in the settlement of refugees and internally displaced persons by the state of Azerbaijan and said that the organization represented by her is also interested in cooperating with the government of Azerbaijan and working with internally displaced persons.
