Ali Hasanov: Non-resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict till now is a great injustice.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of State Committee on Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons Ali Hasanov has met OSCE Minsk group co-chairs Igor Popov (Russia), James Warlick (USA), Pierre Andre (France) and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk that is on a visit to our country on June 14. During the meeting discussions were held on Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and condition of internally displaced persons. Ali Hasanov stated that number of refugees and internally displaced persons in the world was 20-25 million 30 years ago and covered 30 countries. Today their number is more than 60 million and covers 74 countries. If to have a look at last 30-40 years we can see that some of these conflicts have been resolved, but not completely. “There is no such organization in the world that has not adopted resolution related to Nagorno-Karabakh conflict”, -said Ali Hasanov and emphasized that the problem has not been resolved yet despite this and draw attention to it as a great injustice. He mentioned that Azerbaijan hosts the most prestigious events of the world. One of these reliable events is currently held the first European Games. And why there are frigid relations towards us? Why more than 1 million citizens of our country live in a condition of refugee and internally displaced person more than 20 years? Do not they have any rights? Are not their rights trampled on? It gives rise to our concern. Ali Hasanov said that there were no any problems between Azerbaijani and Armenian people. We have lived as neighbors for the period of 200 years and it will last so. There was mutual confidence between these nations. As long as Kocharyan-Sargsyan regime exists in Armenia, they will not agree to the peaceful resolution of this conflict. Because they have came to power especially on this problem. Even they would agree Azerbaijan to liberate its lands by military means and state their people that they could not do anything, as we have fought and liberated our lands. As long as the leadership of Armenia is not independent, it is not right to expect for peace agreement. Both Azerbaijani and Armenian people are tired of this conflict. Armenians leaving their country wait for resolution of the conflict. It should be put an end taking into consideration today’s position of Azerbaijan in the world. You have been both in Armenia and Azerbaijan. You see both conditions of these countries. Well, you are in hostility terms against us, and what is the blame of the nation? Why are they doing this cruelty? This condition was established by the regime of that state. If there would not be any war they could benefit all projects carried out by Azerbaijan. It is more than twenty years that they have occupied our lands and what have given to their people? Aggressor Armenia has not reached anything by occupying our countries, to the contrary, they have lost a lot. Economy of Armenia got into hard situation during this period. This question should be addressed to Serzh Sargsyan personally. What have you done for your nation during 20 years? Which condition have you established? Why do you oppress your people? Let them look our state and theirs. Russian co-chair Igor Popov said that they have met internally displaced persons, had a talk with them and got acquainted with their living conditions during a visit. American co-chair James Warlick expressed his gratitude to the government of Azerbaijan for establishment of good condition for internally displaced persons. He said that he has witnessed it during a visit with internally displaced persons in Masazir. “We promised internally displaced persons that as mediators we will show persistence in our activity and support their return to the native lands and reach great peace agreement satisfying people of the regions. We believe that internally displaced persons will return to the lands that are under occupation now,” – said J.Warlick. French co-chair also spoke about impressions of the meeting with internally displaced persons. It should be noted that OSCE Minsk group co-chairs were in the estates built for 760 internally displaced persons’ families in the territory of Masazir settlement of Absheron district before the meeting. During acquaintance with the condition established in the Zangilan region senior secondary school number 33 considered for 540 students, the information was provided that there are all possibilities to get high level education in the school.
