Azerbaijan-Iran relations have gained more dynamic character recently

The Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Republic, the chairman of the State Committee on Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, the chairman of the Republican Commission on International Humanitarian Aid, Mr. Ali Hasanov paying a visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran had a meeting with the chairman of Imam Khomeini Imdad Committee, Huseyn Anvar in November 24. Expressing his satisfaction towards his visit to Iran, Ali Hasanov stated that Azerbaijani and Iranian nations had the same religion and moral values. These factors stipulate both two nations living in friendly and fraternal conditions. Emphasizing the development of relations between Iran-Azerbaijan on growing line lately, Ali Hasanov noted that the visit of the President Hasan Ruhani to Azerbaijan in November 12-13 was an important step towards this direction. Stating 20-year cooperation relations between Imam Khomeini Imdad Committee and the State Committee on Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, Ali Hasanov highly appreciated the activity of the committee implemented in Azerbaijan. He noted that Azerbaijan gaining the independence again in the beginning of 1990s was involved in the war. Armenia invaded the integral part of Azerbaijan, Daghlig Garabagh and surrounding 7 regions and displaced Azerbaijanis living there from their native lands. Therefore, more than 1 million people become refugees and IDPs in Azerbaijan. Imam Khomeini Imdad Committee provided great assistance to Azerbaijani people at this particular period. Our nation will never forget humanitarian activity of Imdad committee allocating approximately 43 million dollars to humanitarian projects in Azerbaijan. Speaking about Armenia-Azerbaijan, Daghlig Garabagh conflict, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that besides the activity carried out by OSCE Minsk group, the problem had not been solved yet. He mentioned that double standard policy existing in the world interfered with the solution of this conflict. UN Security Council has four resolutions on unconditional liberation of the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. However, Armenia does not fulfill these resolutions and world community is still tolerating this injustice. Ali Hasanov mentioned that by observing the political view of the world, the occurrence of bloody conflicts essentially in Muslim countries could be seen. Azerbaijan is a Muslim country as well and this deplorable view worries us. Islamic solidarity will provide great assistance to Muslim countries in solving the problems. For this reason, Iran and Azerbaijan should expand cooperation relations in all fields. Iran and Azerbaijan should establish high friendly that so that no power could affect this friendship. Providing information on the foreign policy of Azerbaijan, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that the President Ilham Aliyev wanted our country to cooperate with all states. Relations with Armenia are possible only after the liberation of our territories from occupation. Relations with neighbouring countries are priority of our foreign policy.
