Long-term cooperation issues were discussed

The Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Republican Commission on Humanitarian Aid Ali Hasanov received the Head of the Azerbaijan office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Mr. Dag Sigurdson on November 7. During the meeting, sides noted that the relations between the government of Azerbaijan and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) have been established on good grounds and emphasized that the election of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Executive Committee as a member is an obvious example of it, at the same time, once again reported that the government of Azerbaijan has done great works in the settlement of the problems of refugees and internally displaced persons in the country and all these activities have always highly appreciated both by the High Commissioner and other officials of this organization and evaluated as an example by the countries facing similar problem. During the meeting, the activity of this organization in Azerbaijan was also highly appreciated and they talked about all these issues in details, long-term cooperation issues were discussed. They expressed their concern over the “court proceedings” against Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev who were taken hostages in Kalbajar and their appeal to international organizations to release Dilgam Asgarov and Shahbaz Guliyev still being unanswered.
