A meeting was held with the Charge d'Affaires of the United States to Azerbaijan and the head of The United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

On October 15, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs, Chairman of Republican Commission on International Humanitarian Aid, Mr. Ali Hasanov received the Charge d'Affaires of the United States to Azerbaijan Derek Hogan and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Mission Director in Azerbaijan Ms. Brooke Isham relating to the humanitarian projects to be held in Azerbaijan and future plans. Discussions were held in connection with the issues of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the problems of refugees and IDPs incurred as a result of this conflict, improvement of their living conditions. Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov noted that cooperation in all fields between our countries is built on a solid foundation; relations entered a new stage of development and expressed his gratitude for humanitarian aids, humanitarian and development projects implemented whether by the humanitarian and development organizations of USA operating in Azerbaijan or by Embassy of the United States to Azerbaijan and mentioned the importance of cooperation in this field. The Deputy Prime Minister mentioned with gratitude that The Embassy of U.S in our country got acquainted with the living conditions of internally displaced persons living in newly built settlement in dormitory situated in Baku, Mushvigabad and Ganja at different times, various projects were implemented by the Embassy and he wished success to the visitors in their future activities. Diplomat said that USA always pays special attention to the solution of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, improvement of living conditions of Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs, their return to native lands and highly appreciated rapid economic growth in Azerbaijan, gaining a great influence in the international arena in a short period of time, works done to improve the living conditions of refugees and internally displaced persons. Present situation in the solution of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict, challenges ahead relating to the settlement of problems of our compatriots as a result of this conflict, as well as the issues of mutual interest were discussed during the reception.
