A meeting was held with the internally displaced persons in Sabunchu district

On August 15, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs Mr. Ali Hasanov received internally displaced persons, settled in Sabunchu and other districts, in the administrative building of Executive Power of Sabunchu District. During the reception, requests of IDPs have been heard, applications and complaints have been considered; tasks were given to solve their problems. As a result of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict, more than 35000 refugees and IDPs of our country who were internally displaced from their native lands, live in Sabunchu district of Baku. Generally, it means 8 thousand families. Mainly, they settled in dormitories, sanatoriums and public buildings in the territory of the district. Ali Hasanov said at the reception that President Ilham Aliyev pays enough attention and care to refugees and IDPs displaced as a result of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and makes consistent decisions to resolve their problems. Housing and living conditions of IDPs are gradually being improved. 83 modern settlements and residential complex with all social-technical infrastructures were built for our compatriots in this category until now, the living conditions of nearly 210 thousand refugees and internally displaced persons were improved. Only in 2013, more than 20 000 displaced people were moved to new houses. However, there are still internally displaced persons living in difficult conditions. The living conditions of those compatriots will be gradually improved as well. Ali Hasanov mentioned the solution of Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict and expressed his confidence that with the decisiveness of President Ilham Aliyev this problem will be settled soon. The Deputy Prime Minister again carefully listened to the problems of IDPs coming to the reception. Several issues were promptly solved just on the spot and some requests were recorded in order to consider, examine and take relevant measures. Refugees and internally displaced persons coming to the reception expressed their gratitude to our head of state. The Head of Executive Power of Sabunchu District Adil Veliyev, department and head of departments of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, as well as the deputies of the heads of Executive Powers of occupied districts were present at the reception. Reception starting from 9 a.m. lasted till 4 p.m. and this time appeals of more than 400 internally displaced citizens were heard. At the end, internally displaced persons, who were not enrolled to reception, were received, their applications were recorded in order to consider and take measures. It was noted that meetings will be held separately with IDPs settled in the other districts of Baku.
