The State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan participated in the Property and Investment Summit held at The Ritz-Carlton hotel. At the event, the committee’s exhibition titled “The Great Return in Publications” was also showcased. Over 100 participants of the event viewed the exhibition, which featured publications prepared as part of the First State Program for the Great Return.
In his speech, Mahir Abbaszada, a Member of the National Assembly, discussed the restoration and reconstruction work in the liberated territories, the initial results of the Great Return and the importance of awareness, advocacy and promotional work in the effective organization of this process. He highlighted that the publications prepared by the State Committee aim to inform not only internally displaced persons but also the broader public.
The exhibition included six types of educational brochures for internally displaced persons, nine informational brochures, and ten historical-ethnographic brochures from the “Shusha Fortress” series. The educational brochures cover topics such as mine safety, employment and entrepreneurship, social protection measures, community building and activities, state services, environmental protection, and ecology. The informational and educational brochures provide information about the history of the liberated territories and the restoration and reconstruction work in those areas, specifically for the districts within the Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur economic regions. Additionally, an information book for internally displaced persons and a book about the deportation of Azerbaijanis from Western Azerbaijan have been prepared.
The "Shusha Fortress" series includes brochures on “The Formation of the City”, “Neighborhoods and Streets”, “Toponyms”, “Historical-Architectural Monuments”, “Flora and Fauna”, “Sacred Sites”, “Caravanserais, Bathhouses, Markets”, “Craftsmanship”, “Trade” and “Fountains”.
The publications prepared as part of the promotional and explanatory support for the Great Return were met with great interest by the exhibition participants.
