The brochure series “The Fortress of Shusha” has been published

The State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in accordance with the Action Plan of the First State Program on Great Return, has published a series of brochures titled “Shusha Fortress” in Azerbaijani and English as part of the implementation of information, promotion, and explanation activities. They are dedicated to the history and cultural values of Shusha and are prepared by the well-known researcher and journalist Vasif Guliyev. The series includes 10 brochures, each dedicated to its own topic: “Foundation of the city”, “Neighborhoods and streets”, “Toponyms”, “Historical and architectural monuments”, “Flora and fauna”, “Holy places”, "Caravanserais, bathhouses, bazaars”, “Craftsmanship”, “Trade”, “Springs”.

The first pages of the brochures provide brief information about the thoughts of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and President, Victorious Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev on Shusha, the founder of the Shusha fortress Panahali Khan Javanshir, as well as the Kurakchay agreement between the Karabakh Khanate and the Russian government, and the migration of Armenians from Iran and Türkiye to Azerbaijan. Each brochure is written in a literary-publicistic style based on the main historical facts of the topic and is accompanied by numerous photographs. It is planned to continue the publication of brochures on various topics from the “Shusha fortress” series.
