In conjunction with the 32nd anniversary of the Khojaly genocide, employees of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons visited the “Khojaly Massacre Memorial” monument, erected in memory of the victims of the tragedy in Baku.
One of the worst crimes committed against humanity was the horrific genocide committed by Armenian armed forces in Khojaly on the night of February 25-26, 1992, with the assistance of the 366th regiment of the former Soviet army. This year, honoring the victims of genocide in Khojaly, liberated from occupation and completely liberated from separatists, is a demonstration of the strength of our state and the embodiment of respect for the memory of our martyrs.
Let us recall that during the occupation, special attention was always paid to improving the living conditions of internally displaced persons from Khojaly in temporary settlements. Over the past period, 2,494 families of Khojaly were provided with private houses or apartments. For their compact temporary settlement, settlements were built in the Goranboy region and the city of Ganja.
Currently, restoration and construction work is underway in the liberated city of Khojaly. As part of the implementation of the First State Program “Great Return”, this year at the initial stage it is planned to return 50 families to their hometown and resettle them on a permanent basis.
