The State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons held a meeting of the board dedicated to the results of the past year and tasks for the future.
It was emphasized that last year our country developed comprehensively, socio-economic progress was dynamic, especially the revival of Karabakh and East Zangazur and large-scale construction work had been carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev and security measures had been taken in order to successfully continue the return of internally displaced persons to their homeland. It was noted that the head of state, first vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva visited the territories liberated from occupation and personally got acquainted with the implementation of activities related to the Great Return. This causes deep satisfaction and gratitude among the internally displaced persons.
At a board meeting, issues were discussed on the status of implementation of activities in priority areas of the First State Program “Great Return”, including propaganda, outreach, information and education, measures for reintegration at the community level, the progress of resettlement in territories liberated from occupation to those resettled and restored settlements and documents of regional administration and status of internally displaced persons, operation and use of existing housing stock. Reports from the heads of the relevant structural divisions were heard, comments, opinions and proposals were expressed.
Chairman of the State Committee Rovshan Rzayev emphasized the importance of more responsible work to fulfill the tasks and objectives of the head of the country and said that it is necessary to ensure the consistent and timely implementation of comprehensive measures determined for the effective organization of the voluntary, safe and dignified return of internally displaced persons to their native lands.
At the meeting of the board, the work plan of the state committee for the current year was adopted and appropriate decisions were made on the issues discussed.
