As a result of the Victory achieved by the brave Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of the President, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Ilham Aliyev, after 30 years, opportunities have arisen for the voluntary, safe, and dignified return of IDPs to their native lands.
At present, comprehensive restoration and reconstruction work is underway in the liberated territories, primarily focusing on establishing modern infrastructure and creating the necessary conditions for sustainable settlement and economic reintegration.
The resettlement of people to the restored and newly built settlement in the liberated territories is being conducted in stages. In the initial stage, opportunities for return are provided to IDPs living in temporary settlements under challenging conditions. Each family returning to their native land is provided with housing according to family composition.
By January 18, 2024, a total of 1,216 families (4,818 people) had been resettled to various locations, including 175 families (871 people) to the Aghali village of Zangilan district, 20 families (90 people) to the Talish village of Tartar district, 408 families (1,555 people) to the city of Lachin, and 203 families (783 people) to the Zabukh village of Lachin district, as well as 380 families (1,392 people) to the city of Fuzuli.
Thus, 576 families (2,198 people) were resettled from dormitories, camps, kindergartens, and other administrative buildings, 75 families ( 323 people) from state-provided apartments, 565 families (2,297 people) settled in relative houses, rented houses, houses built at the expense of their personal funds, and apartments owned (occupied) by other persons.
