An educational training on the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the Fight against Corruption” was conducted for employees of structural divisions of the State Committee for Affairs of the Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons.
Alimammad Nuriyev, president of the Constitution Research Foundation, coordinator of the Open Government Platform of Azerbaijan, noted that effective and comprehensive measures to combat corruption are being implemented in Azerbaijan. The “National Action Plan to Strengthen the Fight against Corruption for 2022-2026” approved by decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated April 4, 2022 provides for a systematic and coordinated implementation of the fight against corruption with all government agencies and civil society institutions.
The training participants received comprehensive information regarding the definition of corruption, the subjects and kinds of corruption-related offences and their accountability, global experience in combating corruption, combat tactics and equipment, review of appeals regarding corruption-related offences, and other matters.
In order to further strengthen cooperation between civil society institutions and state bodies operating in the field of fighting corruption and to implement joint projects, the training was organized in accordance with the “National Action Plan for Strengthening the Fight Against Corruption for 2022-2026”. Participants in the training included about thirty individuals, including staff members of the committee’s structure, members of the Public Council under the State Committee, and representatives of civil society.
During the interactive training, civil society members and state servants shared perspectives and many questions from the participants were answered.
