The return of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) to the rebuilt city of Lachin is proceeding in compliance with the order of President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The next migration caravan departed from the “Gobu park 3” residential complex in Baku city’s Garadagh district on November 14. The families in this caravan were temporarily residing in hostels, sanatoriums, pioneer camps, incomplete buildings, and administrative buildings in the Absheron district, Baku, and Sumgayit cities. At this point, 40 individuals - 10 more families, were relocated to the city of Lachin.
The valiant Azerbaijani army, led by President, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, achieved victory, allowing internally displaced people to return to their homeland after 30 years of yearning in safety and dignity. The people of Lachin, a city that has grown even more exquisite and lovely, have expressed their gratitude to the brave Azerbaijani Army for saving our lands from occupation, to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for their unwavering support, and to our valiant soldiers and officers and honored our martyrs who lost their lives to this end.
The families that have been relocated will reside in the homes they previously owned in Lachin, which were either rebuilt or restored following the end of the occupation on the basis of orders of head of state.
This guaranteed the permanent settlement of 325 families, i.e. 1245 individuals, in the city of Lachin.
