On October 20, the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs held a draw among families to be relocated to Aghali village of Zangilan region at the next stage. The event was attended by representatives of the special representative offices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Jabrayil, Gubadli and Zangilan regions of the Eastern Zangazur economic region, the Executive Power of Zangilan region and the Public Council under the State Committee.
33 families comprising a total of 177 individuals participated in the draw. These families were allocated housing based on their composition – 10 families were provided with three-room houses, while 15 others were allocated four-room houses, and 8 families got spacious five-room houses. These families had previously sought temporary refuge in the urban domains of Baku and Sumgait, within the Absheron region.
The draw’s objective was to uphold objectivity and transparency in the resettlement process for internally displaced persons. Representatives from the displaced families determined the exact addresses of the houses bestowed upon them through the drawing lots.
Amidst the anticipation, participants conveyed their excitement to be reunited with their cherished homeland. They extended their heartfelt gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the conditions created in the liberated territories and for support and care shown to IDPs.
The scheduled departure of to Aghalı village is set for October 26 and 28.
