With the support of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugee and Internally Displaced Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in connection with "Heydar Aliyev Year", within the action plan of the Bar Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan free legal assistance event was held in Gobu Park-2 residential complex in Garadagh district of Baku city.

In the meeting with internally displaced persons, it was once again reminded that President Ilham Aliyev took necessary measures to strengthen the social protection of citizens from this category and First Vice-President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva paid special attention to solving their problems.

Acting Head of the Law and Human Resources Department of the State Committee, the Head of the Legal Sector Mirhuseyin Huseynov, Head of Baku City Law Office No. 10 Amrulla Alizada gave a speech and expressed their opinion about the protection of the rights and interests of internally displaced persons in our country by the state, ensuring their social protection, preparing for the Great Return, solving the legal issues that arise at this time, etc.

It was noted that legal reforms are being carried out in our country under the initiative and leadership of our head of state and these reforms have created conditions for ensuring human and civil rights and freedoms at a high level. Internally displaced persons were informed about rules for considering the applications of citizens, pension provision, privileges of internally displaced persons, entrepreneurship issues, etc.

According to the signed memorandum of cooperation between the State Committee and the Bar Association, members of this institution contribute to the legal education of internally displaced persons and to free legal assistance.

Then the individual applications of internally displaced persons were heard, their questions were answered and about 50 Internally Displaced Persons in need of legal assistance were provided with free legal assistance, their appeals were heard and information was given that their requests would be addressed to relevant institutions.

It should be noted that free legal assistance will be provided to internally displaced persons in other areas of our republic as well.
