The State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs has prepared a video material and infographics on the massacre committed by Armenians in Bashlibel village of Kalbajar region 29 years ago.
In the video, residents of Bashlibel village reported on the tragedy they witnessed, and spoke about the brutal killing of women, the elderly and children by Armenians.
The infographics provides information about the territory of Bashlibel village, its population and their main occupation. At the same time, information on the statistics of crimes committed as a result of the occupation of the village was posted.
It should be noted that on April 3, 1993, the Armenian armed forces attacked Bashlibel village of Kalbajar region, looted the houses of the villagers and burned them completely. Unable to leave the village, 62 people took refuge in natural caves in the mountainous terrain called “Portda”, located at the highest point of the village, about 3 kilometers away. On April 18, the Armenian military fired on the caves where unarmed civilians were hiding in rocks in their native villages. As a result, unarmed and incapable of resisting people were killed in their shelters.
