Fuad Huseynov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons, made a speech dedicated to the revival in Karabakh to a group of young journalists at ADA University. Participants of the theoretical and practical knowledge seminar organized within the Professional Development Programs that is the joint program of the University and Media Development Agency have been selected among activists of the program “MEDIA Volunteers” of the agency.
F.Huseynov provided listeners detailed information on reasons of historical roots of the matter of refugees and internally displaced persons, state policy in affairs with those people under the leadership of the President, State Committee’s activity regarding those people, as well as preparations for starting the Great Return due to the liberation of our territories.
It was stated that President Ilham Aliyev keeps the strategic line defined by National Leader Heydar Aliyev successfully in ensuring the social protection of refugees and IDPs, improving housing conditions, expanding employment opportunities, that economic growth of our country impact on the living standards of those people positively, up to date more than 320 thousand IDPs have been provided new modern apartments or private houses for temporary settlement and they are paid a monthly allowance from the state budget. It was also noted that tuition fees of students admitted to higher education institutions based on paid education are paid at the expense of the state.
It was pointed out that the First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva pays special attention to IDPs, meet them frequently, listen to, and solve their problems in person.
Detailed information on the historical significance of Azerbaijan’s Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, as well as revival of liberated Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, execution of the President’s assignments on the arrangement of IDPs’ return to their ancestral homeland has also been provided at the seminar. Noting the direct correlation between our country’s socio-economic development and the Great Return in the next 10 years, F.Huseynov said that this matter is reflected in the “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development”.
The seminar organized in order to increase theoretical and practical knowledge of student journalists ended with answering many questions of seminar participants.
