Mətbuat xidmətinin məlumatı 25 September, 2020

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order “On additional measures to improve the housing and living conditions of internally displaced families” on September 25.

According to the Order, 42,5 million manat was allocated to the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons from the reserve fund of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan specified in 2020 state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan to improve the housing and living conditions of internally displaced families. The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan was instructed to provide funding in the amount specified by the Order, and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan to resolve issues arising out of this Order.

Ensuring sustainable socio-economic development in our country under guidance of the President Ilham Aliyev opens wide range of opportunities for a comprehensive solution of the problems of IDPs. Purposeful measures are being taken by the state to strengthen the social protection of people forced to flee their homeland as a result of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, improve their housing and living conditions and increase employment. The global economic and financial crisis in recent years, as well as the coronavirus pandemic, which has been continuing since March this year, has not stopped the implementation of any social projects in our country, including projects related to IDPs.

Construction of new residential settlements for IDPs continues in accordance with the State Program approved by Mr. President and the Road Map made at instruction of the First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva.

5 more new settlements will be commissioned in the country by the end of this year. As such, a 180-family neighborhood in Umid settlement at Garadagh district of Baku is ready to use. Work continues in the new neighborhoods of 1512 families supplied with all social and technical infrastructure in Ramani settlement of Sabunchu district, 200 families with all social and technical infrastructure in Samukh, 1890 families with all social and technical infrastructure in “Sumgait station” area of Absheron, and 810 families with all social and technical infrastructure in Khojasan settlement of Binagadi district.

The funds allocated from the President`s reserve fund will be used for construction of new additional residential areas. This Order reaffirms that addressing the social problems of IDPs is one of the priorities of state policy.
