Mətbuat xidmətinin məlumatı 16 September, 2020

The State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons received information about an accident in the five-story building of the Gizilgum sanatorium, where the IDPs have been settled, in the Pirshagi settlement of the Sabunchu district of Baku in the evening of September 14.

Chairman of the State Committee Rovshan Rzayev and head of the Sabunchu District Executive Power Adil Valiyev visited the scene. Representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs inspected the building.

The IDPs were advised to leave the building due to defects in the concrete structures. The Ministry of Emergency Situations has set up tents, a site kitchen, and a canteen in the area to accommodate IDPs. Azerishig OJSC provided a transformer to illuminate the area.

On September 16, the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced the necessity of evacuating the building residents, which was in an emergency. At present, the State Committee and Sabunchu District Executive Power are taking measures to relocate 98 IDP families temporarily housed in the building to rent apartments.

The State Committee plans to place these families in a new residential complex for IDPs in the Sabunchu district of Baku, which will be commissioned early next year.
