On February 21, the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs held a commemorative event dedicated to the 28th anniversary of Khojali genocide in Ashagi Aghjakand settlement of Goranboy.
Initially, the heads of the State Committee and Khojali Region Executive Power, IDPs from Khojali temporarily residing in Goranboy visited the Khojali monument.
Later, a commemorative event was held at the House of Culture in the settlement.
Those who died for the independence, territorial integrity and protection of the constitutional system of Azerbaijan were commemorated with a minute of silence.
At the end of the event, the movie “Girmizi Nitg” (Red Speech) was shown.
110 jackets were donated to students of primary schools located at Ashagi Aghjakand settlement of Goranboy and 80 suits, 60 coats and 110 bed linens to IDPs from low-income internally displaced families by the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs.
Thereafter, a commemorative feast was organized for those who died in Khojali genocide.
