28 years have passed since the occupation of Garadaghli village of Khojavand by the Armenian armed forces and the genocide against civilians.
IDPs from Khojavand residing in Beylagan visited the memorial complex erected at “Yeni Garadaghli” settlement in memory of the martyrs on the occasion of the anniversary of Garadaghli tragedy. Residents of Garadaghli village, representatives of Khojavand community, family members of martyrs, former warriors, officers and soldiers of the military unit No.N have laid flowers at the memorial complex and paid tribute to the martyrs.
Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Rovshan Rzayev, Khojavand Region Executive Power Eyvaz Huseynov and residents of Garadaghli village made speeches at the event and spoke about the events occurred in the late 1980s and early 1990s, policy of occupation pursued by Armenia against Azerbaijan, the atrocities committed by the Armenian military units in Garadaghli and heroic struggle of the self-defense group against the enemy 28 years ago.
In the speeches it was stated that Azerbaijan has an army with high material and technical base, equipped with modern weapons, highly disciplined and capable of liberating our occupied territories. Confidence was expressed that our occupied territories will be liberated from occupation thanks to the power of Azerbaijani Army, and determination of the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
