A group of participants of “Leadership Development Program” implemented by the State Committee for Work with Diaspora to strengthen relations with Azerbaijanis living abroad and able to build successful careers visiting our country – Edmond Verdier, head and founding partner of LEXLOR, international law firm providing legal and tax services in France and at international level, Ruslan Edison, head of “Edison” Law Office in Turkey, Nurlan Mammadov, engaging in public activities for migration and refugee affairs in Germany, Murad Jafarov, General Manager of “Rich-Inter Group” Open Joint-Stock Company in Ukraine, Murad Muradov, Sales Coordinator of “EVEX” network of clinics in Georgia visited the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs.
Chairman of the Committee Rovshan Rzayev met with the guests and informed them about the state policy pursued in the field of work with refugees and IDPs.
It was stated that the President Ilham Aliyev identified the addressing of IDP problems as one of the priority directions of the social policy, and that the First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva pays special attention and care to people from this category.
It was noted that Azerbaijan`s experience in the field of addressing the refugee and IDP problems is an example to the world. Although the necessary consistent measures are being taken to improve the living conditions and strengthen social protection of refugees and IDPs, their greatest wish is returning to their homeland.
Chairman of the Committee noted that diaspora representatives play a great role in conveying the truth about the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and injustice faced by our people in this regard to the world community. At the same time, it was stated that the measures taken in this direction should be aimed at a wider audience and be more effective. The importance of diaspora representatives` support for addressing the social problems of IDPs such as education, health and employment, and the involvement of relevant organizations in the countries where they work in these activities was underlined.
The guests expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome and said that they will increase their activities on the issues discussed at the meeting.
Later, the guests visited the residential complex built for IDPs in Masazir settlement, Absheron district, and met with our compatriots temporarily settled there.
