Rovshan Rzayev, the chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, visited the settlement newly comissioned for IDPs in Absheron district.

The chairman of the State Committee met with IDPs, listened to their appeals. IDPs were initially received, collectively and then individually. The appeals were mainly related to hot water, natural gas supply, public transport and other issues. Appropriate measures on other issues raised by IDPs have already been taken by the relevant departments of the State Committee.

It was informed that this residential complex, which was commissioned last year with the participation of the President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, allows the improvement of the housing and living conditions of 1000 internally displaced families. Apartments of the buildings constructed at the level of modern requirements are fully repaired and the settlement is supplied with the necessary infrastructure. According to the instruction of the First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva internally displaced families living under severe conditions in damaged buildings and structures in Sumgait city and Absheron district were relocated here in the first place.

It was stated that full volume of natural gas could not be supplied to the apartments because relocation process was continuing. After completion of relocation, the settlement will be fully supplied with natural gas.

Regarding the expansion of public transport network, the State Committee sent letters to relevant agencies and this issue will soon be resolved.

It was noted that other issues raised by IDPs in the meeting will be investigated and resolved according to the legislation.
