Events on the occasion of Novruz holiday were held in the settlements where IDPs live.
Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Rovshan Rzayev, Director of the Social Development Fund of IDPs, MP Mahir Abbaszada, MP Imamverdi Ismayilov, head of Gubadli Region Executive Power Malik Isagov and other officials attended the first Novruz celebration held in the new 1000-family residential complex newly comissioned in Absheron district.
Congratulating the residents on the occasion of Novruz holiday the chairman of the State Committee underlined that the head of state pays great attention and care to IDPs and that the new modern-type settlement is another proof of that. He expressed confidence that as a result of the purposeful, decisive policy of the President Ilham Aliyev, our lands will soon be liberated from occupation and that Novruz bonfires will be made in those areas. It was noted that the First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva has a significant role in the international recognition and celebration of Novruz as a dear holiday of our people.
The head of Gubadli Region Executive Power congratulated IDPs on the occasion of the holiday and wished them good health and prosperity.
Exhibition of handicraft items of IDPs, ancient household items and exhibits were demonstrated at the event, which was held at Hal senior secondary school named after Miragha Aliyev in Gubadli region. Performances of young athletes also attracted interest.
The event continued with a concert program.
A holiday celebration organized by Shusha City Executive Power and the City Cultural Center was held at IDP camp site located in Ramana settlement of Baku.
IDPs settled in the camp site were congratulated on the holiday. Peace and prosperity were wished to our country and abundance for the people. They spoke about the purposeful state policy pursued by the President Ilham Aliyev in the direction of protecting our national-moral values and conveying them to future generations, the First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva`s services in this field and expressed confidence that Novruz holiday will soon be celebrated by our people in Shusha.
The event continued with the concert program of the collective of Shusha Cultural Center.
Novruz celebration was organized in the settlement built for IDPs in Ganja as well.
The head of Accommodation, Migration, Employment and Status of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Sanan Huseynov, the head of Kalbajar Region Executive Power Agil Mammadov, local intelligentsia and social activists attended the event organized by Kalbajar Region Executive Power with the support of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs.
5 heralds in national costumes invited all residents of the settlement to the area where the event will be held. There, Dada Gorgud and “Bahar giz” (spring girl) met the event participants. Kosa (the bearded) and Kechal (the bald) entertained the people with their funny conversations and jokes.
The event participants viewed the exhibition of handicrafts belonging to IDPs, examples of applied arts, and watched the demonstration of the folk customs and traditions.
In addition, each of the staff of offices, agencies and organizations located in the settlement made their own Novruz table. Participants tasted the holiday sweets and dishes. Cockfighting, games like anzali and diradoyma, which are of the traditions of Novruz holiday, were met with great interest.
The event ended with a concert program of Mugham Television Contest winners and Kalbajar ashugs.
