Chairman of the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs Rovshan Rzayev met with a group of residents who were internally displaced from Khojaly.

At the meeting, the situation that arose after the 44-day Patriotic War and 1-day local anti-terrorist actions carried out in the territory of the Karabakh Economic Region under the leadership of President, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the implementation of the measures envisaged in the 1st State Program on the Great Return to the territories freed from occupation, the progress and prospects of the return to native lands were discussed. The failure of the separatist group and the illegal organization created by it as a result of anti-terrorist measures, the creation of the necessary conditions for peace and tranquility in the region were noted with deep satisfaction, and President Ilham Aliyev was thanked for this historic achievement, and the memory of the martyrs who died for the liberation of our lands from occupation and the complete sovereignty of our state in those territories, as well as the victims of the Khojaly genocide, was commemorated with respect.

It was emphasized that the relevant state bodies took the necessary measures to arrest the Armenian bandits who committed grave crimes against our people and subjected the Khojaly residents to genocide and bring them to justice, and the belief was expressed that the ruthless villains will be brought to justice and punished.

Residents of Khojaly, who constantly received attention and care from the state during the period of forced displacement, highly appreciated the sincere attitude and personal support of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva. It was noted that the revival, restoration and reconstruction of the liberated territories, the rapid implementation of measures on the Great Return program, and now the restoration of Khojaly and the opportunity for the Azerbaijani population to return there cause great enthusiasm.

The Chairman of the State Committee informed the participants of the meeting about the preparatory works started for the effective organization of the return to Khojaly region, as well as other liberated territories, the instructions given by our state in this regard, listened to their opinions and opinions, and answered their questions.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the IDP communities of Khojaly, intellectuals, social activists, as well as members of the Public Council under the State Committee.
