Rovshan Rzayev, Chairman of the State Committee for the Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with the residents from regions liberated from occupation.
It was emphasized that the remarkable victory achieved by the brave Azerbaijan Army, under the leadership of President and victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, has paved the way for the long-awaited return of IDPs to their homeland.
Under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, ambitious projects are underway to develop and transform the liberated territories into thriving and modern residential areas. Notably, one of the pivotal tasks entrusted to the Committee is to ensure the voluntary, secure, and dignified return of IDPs to their ancestral lands.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the State Committee had conducted a comprehensive survey among IDPs, seeking their input regarding the desire to return to their native land and overwhelming majority expressed strong desire to return to their cherished homeland.
Meeting participants conveyed their gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for initiating preparations for long-awaited return to their homeland and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for her unwavering support and commitment specifying that they are constantly surrounded by the attention and care of the state.
Subsequently, detailed updates were provided on efforts undertaken to ensure employment opportunities and actively holding employment events for individuals whose return was confirmed in accordance with the First State Program on the Great Return to the liberated territories. Furthermore, the gathering provided an opportunity to address inquiries posed by IDPs, ensuring that their questions were clarified.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, the villagers conveyed their anticipation of returning to their cherished homeland, a longing that has persisted for numerous years, and expressed confidence that the areas will be restored.
