IDPs, a vulnerable group of the country`s population, wait for Novruz holiday in great hope and gather around the bonfire with the desire and confidence to return to their homeland soon. The State Committee for Refugees and IDPs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, “Azerishig” Open Joint-Stock Company and “Azerigaz” Production Association jointly organized a humanitarian aid campaign in order to support internally displaced families in special need of social protection to celebrate the holiday in accordance with local customs and traditions. 

IDPs were informed that the President Ilham Aliyev declared the addressing of their social problems one of the priorities of the state policy, and purposeful measures are being taken in this regard. The First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva always pays special attention to their care, education and health.

Representatives of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, “Azerishig” Open Joint-Stock Company and “Azerigaz” Production Association provided food aid to more than 2500 internally displaced families living in “Gobu Park” and “Umid” residential complexes built for IDPs at Garadagh district of Baku. It was noted that all three organizations will always be there for them, and such meetings will continue.
