On April 12, Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Rovshan Rzayev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Azerbaijan Erkan Ozoral.
Underlining that the Azerbaijani-Turkish relations described by National Leader Heydar Aliyev as “one nation, two states” are in the full interests of our people, the friendly and fraternal relationship of the President Ilham Aliyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan brings great benefits to our countries, the Chairman of the Committee stated that the meeting fell into a remarkable time. It was noted that Turkey`s support played an important role in Azerbaijan`s victory in the 44-day Patriotic War and the liberation of our lands from occupation, and it will always live in the memory of our people.
It was underlined that thanks to the attention and care of the President Ilham Aliyev and the sensitive attitude of the First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, the problems of IDPs have been resolved in stages, and now necessary measures are being taken to prepare for their safe return to their homeland and restoration of the liberated territories.
Chairman of the Committee congratulated Ambassador Erkan Ozoral on being awarded the highest state award of Azerbaijan – “Dostlug” Order (the Order of Friendship), thanked him for his support of IDP activities during his diplomatic career in our country and wished him success in his future work.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, the Turkish diplomat said that his activity in Azerbaijan was an unforgettable period in his life, especially he was particularly happy and proud of the end of the occupation of our lands and the great victory in the Patriotic War during this period. Recalling that the place he visited most in our country was Jojug Marjanli, he said he was confident that Azerbaijan will set an example to the world during the Great Return of IDPs to the liberated territories as well.
The Ambassador noted that he will continue to take an active part in the relations between our brotherly people in his future activities.
Views were exchanged on other issues of mutual interest at the meeting.
