Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs Rovshan Rzayev met with IDPs in Gobu Park residential complex at Garadagh district of Baku. 

Chairman of the State Committee spoke about the important directions of the state policy in the field of work with refugees and IDPs, the work done over the past year and the tasks set by the head of state. It was noted that President Ilham Aliyev pays particular attention to improving the housing and living conditions and strengthening social protection of IDPs, and takes necessary measures. Over the past two years, 13 new settlements have been built for IDPs, and the amount of single monthly allowance given to citizens from this category was increased by 50 percent last year. Construction of new residential complexes in Baku, Sumgait and regions is underway.

The First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva treats the housing, education and health problems of IDPs in a sensitive way, holds meetings with them, gives instructions on the issues raised by them and oversees their execution.

It was noted that the private sector of our country also supports the purposeful and consistent measures taken by the government to improve the housing and living conditions of IDPs. It was stated that the project “Gobu Park” is being implemented wholly by the private sector. The work regarding the third stage of the complex is already completed. The 1300-family “Gobu Park-3” settlement is planned to be commissioned in the near future.

Chairman of the State Committee listened to lots of appeals of IDPs and answered their questions. Appeals were mostly related to improvement of housing and living conditions and water supply, provision of employment, job opportunities, etc. All written and verbal appeals were recorded. It was noted that all issues raised in the meeting will be reviewed, and an official response will be given accordingly.

The meeting participants expressed their satisfaction with the attention and care shown by our state and thanked the country administration.
