On December 11, the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs held the next reception of IDPs. Chairman Rovshan Rzayev, deputy chairmen, heads of administration, divisions and departments of the State Committee attended the reception. Citizens who were enrolled to the reception beforehand were received individually and their appeals were listened. The appeals were mainly related to housing, status, single monthly allowance, employment and other issues. Citizens, whose apartments were seized by IDPs, also attended the reception. It was informed that the care to IDPs is of the priorities of state policy. The President Ilham Aliyev always keeps the problems of IDPs in the center of attention, gives instructions to improve their material well-being and ensure their employment. The First Vice President Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva personally oversees the implementation of the instruction given about the relocation of internally displaced families living in unfit and damaged buildings in Baku, Sumgait to new apartments soon. It was noted that about 4 thousand IDPs have been settled by seizing apartments or houses belonging to citizens or state authorities. A clause related to the solution of this issue was added to the State Program and the committee has recently been working on it. It is expected that the work will be started in stages to address the problem of IDPs temporarily settled in the seized apartments. The relevant structures of the State Committee were given specific instructions to address the issues raised in the appeals.
