A meeting was held at the State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons of the Republic of Azerbaijan with Francesco Delogu, the head of the Italian architecture firm “Delogu Architecture”.

Rovshan Rzayev, Chairman of the Committee, informed the Italian guest about the restoration and reconstruction efforts underway in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, as well as the implementation of activities outlined in the Great Return State Program I. He highlighted that the vast majority of our compatriots who have been internally displaced for nearly thirty years due to occupation of Armenia are eager to return to their homeland. It was emphasized that new residential areas are being constructed in the liberated territories, with restoration work being carried out in Shusha and Lachin and modern architectural methods being utilized.

The Italian architect noted his awareness of the rapid and extensive restoration and reconstruction work being carried out in Azerbaijan’s liberated areas and stated that all these efforts will facilitate the timely return of the displaced population. He mentioned that the purpose of his visit was to support the Azerbaijani government’s efforts in revitalizing and developing the liberated areas.

The Chairman of the State Committee appreciated the guest’s interest in this priority issue for our country and his intention to support the Great Return. He answered the guest’s questions and wished him success in his creative endeavors.

It is worth noting that “Delogu Architecture” is a firm with extensive experience in urban and regional planning, as well as the design of residential buildings and hotels.
