On August 2, Rovshan Rzayev, the chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, met with citizens who registered for the appointment in advance. It was reported that certain measures have been taken under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev to improve living conditions of IDPs and provide them with employment opportunities. It was also noted that First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva pays special attention and takes care of people who suffered from war, including IDPs.
It was also noted with satisfaction that the return of IDPs to their homeland - territories liberated from occupation – has already been launched. It was also mentioned that on July 19-25 migration caravans were sent from Baku to Aghaly village, which was reconstructed using the concept of "smart village" in Zangilan district. Some 41 IDP families moved to the village at the initial stage. Return of population to Aghaly village is on track.
IDPs who had individual meetings with the chairman expressed their confidence that they will return to their homeland in the nearest future. Appeals of the citizens participating in meeting were mainly related to such issues as improvement of housing and living conditions, utilities, status, monthly allowance, employment, return to the territories liberated from occupation, etc.
Citizens were informed that all appeals and issues will be reviewed and settled based on the legislation.
